A graduate of the University of Auckland, Shirley also worked as a marketing and publicity intern at Auckland Council. Her journey to fame began when she participated in a contest organized by T-Series, submitting a YouTube entry filmed in her bedroom while wearing pyjamas. This endearing moment earned her the nickname "Pyjama Popstar" from the New Zealand Herald. Among thousands of participants, she was named one of the winners, marking the start of her rise in the music industry.  Balancing her studies with a part-time role as a radio jockey, Shirley continued to upload music regularly on YouTube, collaborating with artists from the U.S., U.K., India, and Canada. In just four years, she amassed 1.8 million subscribers and 114 million views. With her growing success, she made the bold move to Mumbai to chase her Bollywood dreams.
